The Atlanta Falcons’ injury report on Thursday showed some promising developments ahead of their game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Defensive back Justin Simmons, who suffered a hamstring injury in last week’s 38-20 win over the Carolina Panthers and did not practice on Wednesday, was limited in Thursday’s session, indicating progress.
However, concerns linger regarding the availability of two other key defenders. Inside linebacker Troy Andersen and outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter both missed their second consecutive practice on Thursday. Andersen sustained a knee injury while tackling on special teams during Atlanta’s Week 4 win against the New Orleans Saints and has not participated in practices or games since then. Carter was initially reported as out on Wednesday due to illness, but this was later updated to a concussion.
Additionally, receiver KhaDarel Hodge did not practice on Thursday due to a personal matter. Running back Bijan Robinson was also limited for rest purposes. Despite being on the injury report for hamstring and shoulder issues in previous weeks, he is not expected to carry any injury designation into Sunday’s game.
On a positive note, linebacker Nate Landman (calf/quad) and cornerback Antonio Hamilton Sr. (back) were full participants after being limited the day before. The Falcons (4-2) will face the Seahawks (3-3) at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
