MAJOR-NEWS: Yankees Fans Left Heartbroken as Phillies Bryce Harper Reveals Shocking Truth About Missed Opportunity-You Won’t Believe What He Said….

Bryce Harper, the Philadelphia Phillies outfielder, grew up as a fan of the New York Yankees, a passion passed down to him from his father. Even while playing for the Washington Nationals, Harper honored his love for the Yankees by choosing his jersey number in tribute to Yankees legend Mickey Mantle.

“I’ve been a Yankee fan my whole life, everyone knew that,” Harper told ESPN’s Pat McAfee. “I grew up watching some incredible Yankee teams… I loved those teams.” At one point, it seemed like Harper was destined to join the Yankees. After seven seasons with Washington, he was poised to hit free agency in 2019, and reports suggested he was eager to sign with New York. However, his childhood dream never came true.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman decided not to pursue Harper, and the outfielder eventually signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. This decision has haunted Yankees fans ever since, and it was brought to the forefront once again in a recent social media post from Harper, where he expressed his admiration for Yankee Stadium.

When Harper hit free agency in 2018, his agent, Scott Boras, worked hard to get the Yankees involved. Boras pitched Harper’s athleticism and potential to play first base, but Cashman wasn’t interested. According to reports, the Yankees didn’t even reach out to Harper, missing an opportunity that many now regret. In hindsight, it seems the Yankees could have waited for Harper to hit the market instead of rushing to make other moves.

A year before Harper became a free agent, the Yankees made a major move by acquiring Giancarlo Stanton from the Miami Marlins. Despite Stanton’s impressive accolades, including an NL MVP award, his time with the Yankees has been marred by injuries, leading to only an average of 95 games played per season.

Cashman’s decision to pass on Harper, citing the team’s existing outfield depth and their reluctance to add another big contract, stands in stark contrast to how impactful Harper has been for the Phillies, who signed him for 13 years and $330 million in 2019.
