Minnesota Vikings Eyeing Another Victory Over Green Bay Packers in Week 17
The Minnesota Vikings continued their winning ways with a hard-fought victory over the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field, a tough environment to play in. With their 13th win now secured, they are setting their sights on a second win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 17.
Vikings Look to Repeat Win Over Packers After September Victory
Back in late September, the Vikings traveled to Lambeau Field and emerged with a 31-29 win over their division rivals. Despite the close score, the game was never really in doubt. Now, as they host the Packers for the final matchup of the season at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Vikings are heavily favored.
Traditionally, home-field advantage is worth about three points, and U.S. Bank Stadium is a daunting place for any opponent. Still, the Packers won’t be an easy out, especially since Jordan Love was playing at far less than 100% in the first meeting.
Both teams enter this matchup relatively healthy, making it a highly anticipated showdown between two powerhouse teams in what is widely considered the NFL’s toughest division. The Packers are also coming off a short week, having played a Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints, which could give the Vikings a slight edge.
In their previous encounter, Sam Darnold threw for 275 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception, while Aaron Jones nearly hit 100 yards rushing. Justin Jefferson led the receiving corps with 85 yards. The Vikings’ defense allowed Love to throw for 389 yards and four touchdowns but managed to pick him off three times. Running back Josh Jacobs was held to just 51 yards on nine carries.
