NFL TRADE DEADLINE SHOCKER; Bills GM Hints at MORE Blockbuster Deals

Brandon Beane is all in and ready to make bold moves. The Buffalo Bills general manager appeared on The Pat McAfee Show just a day after trading for wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns. This five-time Pro Bowl player is set to enhance a receiving corps that has struggled to create separation. While acquiring Cooper is a significant step for the Bills ahead of the NFL trade deadline, Beane hinted that it might not be their final move.

Three Leadership Lessons from Bills GM Brandon Beane | The GM Journey

Beane conveyed a clear message about the team’s intentions this season: they are fully committed. “We’re still all in,” he stated to McAfee and A.J. Hawk. “If this trade hadn’t happened, we would have continued to watch the receiver market. There’s still time before the deadline, and if we identify something else that could elevate our game, we won’t hesitate to act. Our goal remains the same: as long as Josh Allen is our quarterback, we’re focused on winning and will do everything possible each year.”

After the trade, the Bills are expected to have ten picks in next year’s draft, having sent a third-round pick in 2025 and a seventh in 2026 to the Browns in exchange for Cooper and a sixth-round pick in 2025. Looking at their roster, adding a player to the defensive line seems logical, as the team is in need of a standout edge rusher and has seen inconsistent performance at defensive tackle. Upgrading at safety could also be on the table, as Taylor Rapp has performed well, but enhancing the position alongside Damar Hamlin might be a consideration.
