The Kansas City Chiefs declared that wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster will not be playing in their Week 7 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers due to a hamstring injury. Despite being a key target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes in their recent victory over the New Orleans Saints, Smith-Schuster’s participation this week was uncertain after he was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday.

Head coach Andy Reid initially expressed optimism about Smith-Schuster’s availability, but during the first quarter of the game, he appeared to experience discomfort and subsequently was ruled out. The Chiefs have activated four other receivers for the game: Mecole Hardman, Skyy Moore, Justin Watson, and Xavier Worthy.
