The Minnesota Vikings may be looking to strengthen multiple positions along their offensive line, and Chicago Bears left guard Teven Jenkins could be a prime target. At 26 years old, Jenkins, who was drafted No. 39 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, has shown versatility and physicality—traits that could make him an appealing option for the Vikings.
Jenkins, who initially entered the league as a tackle, has found a home at guard and has proven to be a solid starter when healthy. According to Pro Football Focus, Jenkins was ranked 15th overall among guards for 2024. His timing for hitting the market is ideal, as teams are increasingly prioritizing interior linemen, and Jenkins has become a dependable presence for the Bears.
After signing a four-year, $8.4 million contract as a rookie, Jenkins is now set to enter free agency. The Vikings, who are projected to have $58 million in cap space, could look to allocate a portion of that to Jenkins, especially if they plan to retain Sam Darnold or pursue a top-tier quarterback. Spotrac estimates Jenkins’ market value at $10.3 million per year, which would likely result in a three-year, $31 million contract.

The Vikings are already familiar with Jenkins, having faced him twice a year since he entered the league. His potential to upgrade the Vikings’ offensive line is evident, especially when considering that Blake Brandel, who struggled in 2024, could be replaced.
Brandel was ranked No. 40 overall among offensive tackles by Pro Football Focus, with teammates Ed Ingram and Dalton Risner performing poorly in run blocking. Though Brandel and Risner fared better as pass blockers, Jenkins could offer a significant improvement to Minnesota’s offensive line.
