Earlier this offseason, the Milwaukee Brewers made a major move, trading two-time All-Star closer Devin Williams to the New York Yankees. In exchange, the Brewers received left-handed starting pitcher Nestor Cortes and infielder prospect Caleb Durbin.
As the 2025 MLB season approaches, Devin Williams will become the 58th player to pitch for either the Brewers or Yankees, joining a distinguished list of names like Hall of Famer CC Sabathia, reliever LaTroy Hawkins, and long-time Brewer Chris Capuano.
Williams isn’t the only former Brewers pitcher joining New York, though. Rob Zastryzny, who played for Milwaukee last season, has also signed with the Yankees on a minor league contract and has been invited to Spring Training. Zastryzny, a left-handed reliever, appeared in nine games for the Brewers last season, with three of them as starts. He finished with a 1-0 record, 1.17 ERA, and 0.65 WHIP in just 7.2 innings pitched.

Before joining the Brewers, Zastryzny had stints with the Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels, and Pittsburgh Pirates, posting a 3-0 record, 4.70 ERA, and 1.59 WHIP in 45 career MLB games. After his Cubs tenure ended in 2018, he spent several years in the minors before returning to the majors in 2022. Over his 185 Triple-A appearances, Zastryzny compiled a 23-19 record with a 4.69 ERA and 1.37 WHIP.
