TAMPA, Fla. – New York Yankees star Giancarlo Stanton will start the 2025 season on the injured list due to elbow injuries. According to the *New York Post*, Stanton has received platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections in both elbows as part of his recovery. The 2017 NL MVP has been away from the team to address a personal matter but is expected to rejoin the Yankees in Tampa within the next week.

Last season, the 35-year-old slugger batted .233 with 27 home runs and 72 RBIs in 114 games. Stanton also delivered a standout postseason performance, hitting seven homers and driving in 16 runs across 14 games, earning ALCS MVP honors as the Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians. His absence to start the season is a significant blow to the Yankees’ lineup, but the team hopes his return will provide a midseason boost.
