BREAKING; Significant Loss As Kentucky Loses Top Experience Wide Receiver To Rival Team.

Former Kentucky wide receiver Hardley Gilmore appears to have found his next destination, with plans to transfer to Nebraska, according to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports.

The 4-star freshman was a standout in an otherwise struggling Kentucky passing game, recording 6 receptions for 153 yards and 1 touchdown despite being limited to just five games. His season was hindered by a preseason collarbone injury, which restricted his playing time.

Ranked as the No. 149 overall player in the 2024 class, Gilmore’s departure is a significant loss for the Wildcats, who were working hard to retain him.

On film, he demonstrated the potential to be a major contributor with a healthy season, making his departure especially painful for Kentucky’s wide receiver group, which now lacks both experience and leadership, with several true freshmen on the roster.

Gilmore will have three years of eligibility remaining at Nebraska, where he’ll reunite with former Kentucky wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts and former Wildcats starter Dane Key. For Kentucky, Gilmore’s departure adds to the pressure to address their wide receiver needs via the transfer portal in preparation for 2025.
