BREAKING: Major Set Back As Missouri Makes Bold Move To Land another Star Running Back From Kentucky

The Missouri Tigers secured a commitment from Ahmad Hardy, one of the top running backs available in the transfer portal. Hardy, who rushed for 1,351 yards and 13 touchdowns at UL Monroe this season, averaged 5.7 yards per carry. He was initially rumored to be a primary target for Kentucky in this transfer cycle, but before he could visit the Wildcats, he chose to commit to Missouri instead.

This move marks another loss for Kentucky, as Missouri also managed to flip highly-rated running back recruit Marquise Davis from the Wildcats just before signing day.

Davis, ranked as the No. 7 running back in the 2025 class by On3, is a game-changing talent, known for his standout performances, including a remarkable eight-touchdown game. Losing him to a rival SEC school like Missouri adds extra frustration for Kentucky, as Davis was a key recruit for their offense.

Missouri continues to build its running back roster, having now secured two key players from Kentucky. While losing prospects to non-SEC schools is common, losing them to a conference rival is particularly painful for the Wildcats.

In response, Kentucky is now focusing on another transfer portal running back, Dante Dowdell, who is transferring from Nebraska. Dowdell wasn’t Nebraska’s primary ball carrier but still had a productive season with 614 yards and 12 touchdowns on 143 carries, making him a solid potential addition to Kentucky’s backfield.
