The Minnesota Vikings are making changes to their offensive line as they continue to navigate NFL free agency. On Thursday, the team announced it had traded guard Ed Ingram to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick. Reports also suggest that the Vikings are looking to trade center Garrett Bradbury, and if no trade partner is found, they plan to release him.
One of Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s top priorities during free agency was to strengthen the offensive line, and he has done so by signing center Ryan Kelly, formerly of the Indianapolis Colts. Kelly, a first-round pick in 2016, started 10 games last season and has played his entire career at center, effectively marking the end of Bradbury’s time in Minnesota.
The Vikings also added guard Will Fries, who was a teammate of Kelly’s in Indianapolis for the past four seasons. Fries played just five games last year but has 31 starts over his career, signaling a shift that ultimately led to Ingram’s departure.
Ingram, a second-round pick in 2022, started nine games at right guard last season and appeared in 15 games overall. Over three seasons with the Vikings, he made 41 starts. Meanwhile, Garrett Bradbury, a first-round pick in 2019, made 88 starts over six seasons with the team.
