South Carolina wide receiver Nyck Harbor has officially re-signed with The Garnet Trust and will be returning to the Gamecocks for the 2025 season.
In today’s college football landscape, the process of underclassmen returning to a program has evolved significantly. It’s no longer just about securing a scholarship; now, players also have to sign new contracts with the school’s NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) collective. For the Gamecocks, that collective, The Garnet Trust, made a big move by securing the return of their former 5-star wide receiver, Nyck Harbor.
During his sophomore season, Harbor made a noticeable impact with 26 receptions for 346 yards and 3 touchdowns. He will now return to work alongside quarterback LaNorris Sellers for another season, continuing their developing chemistry on the field. Harbor’s return is a significant boost for the Gamecocks, as he was one of the key pieces in head coach Shane Beamer’s early recruiting success.
Harbor, a former 5-star recruit out of Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C., came to South Carolina as an elite athlete with not only immense potential on the football field but also as a track star. He is still actively competing on the Gamecocks’ track team, where he recently set new personal bests in the 100-meter (10.11 seconds) and 200-meter (20.20 seconds) races, showcasing his incredible speed and athleticism.
On the football field, Harbor has shown significant growth. He nearly doubled his production from his freshman to sophomore year, raising expectations for his future at South Carolina. With another season ahead, there’s a lot of excitement surrounding Harbor’s continued development, both in football and on the track, making him a key player to watch for the Gamecocks moving forward.
