MAJOR-BREAKING: Yankees’ Opening Day Roster SHOCKER: Top Prospect & Unexpected Call-Up Secure Spots – But There’s a Catch!

The New York Yankees are putting the finishing touches on their Opening Day roster, with pitching injuries leading to veteran Carlos “Cookie” Carrasco and rookie Will Warren securing spots. As the lineup takes shape, younger players are expected to play crucial roles in the Yankees’ offense throughout the season. Jasson Dominguez and Ben Rice have officially made the team, according to Aaron Boone and Max Goodman of NJ.com.

Although the Yankees haven’t officially announced their Opening Day roster yet, there are only a few spots remaining. Carrasco and Warren will fill in for Gerrit Cole and Luis Gil, both of whom are sidelined due to injuries. Rice was always a strong contender for a spot, but his chances increased significantly after Giancarlo Stanton’s injury. Dominguez, who started camp as the starting left fielder, was expected to make the team, so his inclusion is not a surprise.

As the Yankees’ top prospect, Dominguez has plenty of potential, but there are concerns that could worry fans. His defensive struggles in left field have only worsened since his brief appearance with the team last season. Additionally, his OPS as a right-handed hitter is over 400 points lower than when he bats left-handed. While Dominguez has earned the starting role, his performance at the plate will be key to maintaining his spot on the roster.
