MAJOR NEWS; INJURY OUTBURST: Team’s Defense Takes Major Hit As Star Linebacker Is Out Of the Season Due To Elbow Injury.

Coach Kalen DeBoer announced on Monday that Alabama linebacker Que Robinson will miss the remainder of the season due to an elbow injury sustained during Saturday’s 42-13 victory over LSU. Additionally, reserve linebacker Keanu Koht has been suspended indefinitely after failing to make the trip to LSU.

The loss of Robinson, a 6-5, 241-pound redshirt senior, is a significant setback for an Alabama defense that has been dominant in recent weeks, allowing just one touchdown in their victories over LSU and Missouri.

Robinson, who has been a key contributor, is tied for the team lead in sacks with four and ranks second in tackles for loss (seven) and quarterback hurries (five).

“He’s just a special, special person in every way,” DeBoer said of Robinson. “I hate to see someone who gives so much to the team go through something like this.

What stands out about Que is not just his performance on the field but also how he mentors his teammates before practice and constantly puts others first. He truly cares about this team and this program.”

With Robinson out, redshirt freshmen Qua Russaw and Yhonzae Pierre are expected to take on more significant roles at the outside linebacker position.

“As the season progresses, these moments define us,” said Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack. “The question is, will players step up when they’re needed most? That will ultimately determine our success as we head into the back half of the season.”
