Although the Vikings re-signed Byron Murphy, questions remain about the depth behind him. Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon suggests that Hilton, a former undrafted free agent who started his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, might be a perfect fit.
Hilton, widely regarded as one of the best slot cornerbacks of the past decade, still offers significant experience and could even thrive if moved to safety, according to Gagnon’s prediction on April 2. At 31, Hilton is past his prime, and with free agency not seeing high demand for his position, he’s waiting for the right opportunity.
Even with Murphy’s return, the Vikings are still lacking depth at cornerback. Adding a seasoned and affordable player like Hilton would be a significant boost for the team. Hilton, who recorded 73 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 5 pass deflections, and 1 interception with the Bengals in 2024, could be used in a variety of roles to strengthen the Vikings’ defense.
