Vikings Urged to Snag TWO Game-Changing Prospects in 2025 NFL Draft – Will They Strike Gold?

With limited draft picks, the Minnesota Vikings face crucial decisions on their top two selections. With just four picks in this year’s draft, including a first and third-round pick, the Vikings are expected to target a cornerback, defensive lineman, and offensive lineman in the early rounds. After spending nearly $300 million on free agents this offseason, Minnesota must now focus on selecting players who can shape the future of the franchise. The draft presents an opportunity to address their depth issues.

NFL.com draft analyst Chad Reuter offered his predictions for each team’s top two picks, suggesting the Vikings select Florida State cornerback Azareye’h Thomas in the first round and West Virginia guard Wyatt Milum in the third round. Reuter pointed out that while the Vikings brought back Byron Murphy and signed former Eagle Isaiah Rodgers, they still need a cornerback with size for outside coverage. At 6’1½” and 197 pounds, Thomas is well-suited to handle larger receivers and utilize his physicality downfield.

The Vikings’ third-round pick, a compensatory selection from a previous trade, would be used to address their need at left guard by selecting Milum. Milum, a consensus All-American, could transition from left tackle to guard, thanks to his active feet and finishing ability.

Thomas had an impressive season at Florida State, recording 52 tackles, four pass deflections, two tackles for loss, and one interception in 12 games. Milum, an All-American, is viewed as a potential starter on the Vikings’ offensive line.

Both players are solid options to add depth to key positions. Thomas could develop under Murphy and Rodgers before stepping into a larger role in the coming years, while Milum has the potential to earn a starting job at guard. If both players live up to their potential, the Vikings could secure two future starters with their first two picks, a major win for their long-term plans.
