Atlanta Braves Stumble to Historic 0-7 Start—Are They in Danger of a 2025 Disaster?”

The Atlanta Braves’ disastrous start to the 2025 season continued Wednesday with a heartbreaking 6-5 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers, capped off by a walk-off home run from Shohei Ohtani in the bottom of the ninth. The defeat leaves the Braves with an MLB-worst 0-7 record, while the Dodgers sit atop the league at 8-0.

Despite high expectations as World Series contenders heading into the season, the Braves’ West Coast road trip has been brutal. Adding to their woes, Jurickson Profar was suspended for PEDs, Reynaldo Lopez landed on the injured list, and key players Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuña Jr. remain sidelined as they recover from injuries.

With their 0-7 start, it would take an extraordinary turnaround for the Braves to even make the playoffs, as no team in MLB history has ever reached the postseason after starting 0-7, and it’s been 42 years since any such team finished with a winning record.

While it’s clear the Braves need to turn things around fast, the team has the day off Thursday before returning home to face the Miami Marlins on Friday for their home opener at Truist Park, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET.
