
GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina softball team wraps up its four-game homestand this weekend as they host Memphis for a three-game series at Max R. Joyner Family Stadium.
The series kicks off on Friday at 5 p.m., with the second game set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, and the series finale at noon on Sunday. Friday and Saturday’s games will be streamed on ecupirates.com with Courtney Layton providing commentary, while Sunday’s matchup will be available on ESPN+ with Patrick Johnson (play-by-play) and Layton (analyst) on the call.
ECU comes off a 6-2 victory over Norfolk State on Wednesday, led by Kanisha Anderson’s perfect 4-for-4 performance at the plate, including a triple. Annie Kate Dalton also hit her first career triple, driving in three runs. Kendall Frost and Taylor Apple were dominant in the circle, combining for six hitless innings.
Anderson leads the Pirates with a .437 batting average (3rd in AAC), and has recorded 14 multi-hit games this season. Emma Jackson, Morgan Johnson, and Dalton have combined for 30 of ECU’s 45 home runs, the most in the league and 28th nationally. The Pirates’ seven home runs in last Saturday’s 15-7 victory at Charlotte tied for the second-most in a single game in AAC history. Apple (3.29 ERA, 88 strikeouts) and Frost (4.06 ERA, 67 strikeouts) are ECU’s top pitchers.
Memphis enters the weekend having lost two straight games and six of its last seven. Taylor Neely leads the Tigers with a .352 batting average, while Zoe Adebayo powers the offense with six home runs. In the circle, Rylee Dugar holds a 4.02 ERA and 45 strikeouts.
In the all-time series, ECU leads Memphis 35-17 and has won seven of the last eight meetings.
