Juan Soto’s free agency was one of the biggest stories of the MLB offseason. Would he stay with the New York Yankees, teaming up with Aaron Judge to make another run at the World Series? Could the Los Angeles Dodgers steal him away, or would he end up joining the New York Mets in Queens? As we now know, Soto chose to sign a historic contract with the Mets.
In the months following his decision, rumors swirled about Soto and Judge’s relationship. However, during a recent interview, Soto had nothing but praise for Judge, sharing the message the Yankees captain sent him after his signing.

“He’s a good man, a good person. When I signed (with the Mets), the first thing we did was get on the phone and talk about it,” Soto said, via Bob Klapisch of nj.com. “He told me I made the right decision for my family and that he was happy for me. That’s what a real friend says.”
Despite all the speculation, it’s clear that Judge and Soto remain on good terms. With both players set to lead major-market MLB teams for years to come, it will be fascinating to see how their paths continue to cross. Judge is under contract with the Yankees until 2031, while Soto is locked in with the Mets through 2039 — unless he opts out in 2030.
Both Soto and Judge are among the best players in the game, and as they continue to lead their respective teams, a friendly rivalry could develop. A Mets-Yankees World Series featuring these two superstars would undoubtedly be a thrilling spectacle.
