With Just 10 Days Until the NFL Draft, Vikings Fans Sound Off on Trades, Needs, and Strategy
The 2025 NFL Draft is fast approaching, with only 10 days until the first round and a week before the Vikings kick off their voluntary offseason workouts at TCO Performance Center. As the countdown continues, fans are buzzing with ideas about how the team should approach the draft—and what trades might be worth considering.
One hot topic? Trading down from their current No. 24 spot to gain more draft capital. With only four picks in this year’s draft, it’s a logical option. Fans have proposed potential trade partners like the Bills, Chiefs, Eagles, or even the Jaguars, who have an abundance of picks.
General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is expected to address the media on April 17, and many are eager to hear whether he’ll stick with the current picks or shake things up. Given the uncertainty and the team’s strategic approach in previous years, trading down is definitely on the table.
Despite making strong moves in free agency, the Vikings still have needs across multiple positions: cornerback, safety, defensive line, linebacker, offensive line, tight end, and running back. With only four picks, some fans hope the team finds more talent through undrafted free agents as they’ve done successfully before.
Mock drafts vary widely, with some fans hoping for a safety like Nick Emmanwori in the first round, while others suggest trading out of the first round entirely. One fan even presented a full seven-round mock after hypothetical trades, including names like Xavier Watts, Jalin Conyers, and Donovan Edwards.
There’s also discussion about the team’s lack of depth at tight end behind T.J. Hockenson and Josh Oliver, and some believe it’s an underrated area of need.
Quarterback remains a lingering question. While some fans remain hopeful J.J. McCarthy will rise to the occasion, others are concerned about the lack of a veteran backup. The idea of reuniting with Teddy Bridgewater or drafting someone like Jalen Milroe in the third round has even come up.
