SHOCK TRADE! Vikings Give Up 2024 1st-Rounder in Bold 2025 NFL Mock Draft Stunner

We’re just 10 days away from the 2025 NFL Draft, and unlike most years, this one is wide open. That uncertainty adds excitement for fans, but it also makes things harder for analysts and teams trying to make the right pick. For our final Mock Draft Monday at Vikings Wire, we decided to stir things up with a bold move—one the Vikings could make, even if it’s a long shot.

Blockbuster Move: Vikings Land Bengals All-Pro EDGE Trey Hendrickson

With Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson reportedly unhappy, we imagined a scenario where Minnesota swoops in. In our mock, the Vikings send last year’s first-rounder Dallas Turner and the No. 24 pick in this year’s draft to Cincinnati in exchange for Hendrickson, plus picks No. 49 and 153.

Though Turner didn’t gain much trust from DC Brian Flores in 2024, pairing Hendrickson with Jonathan Greenard could give Minnesota one of the most feared edge duos in the league.

Mock Draft Picks After the Trade:

  • Round 2, Pick 49: Kevin Winston Jr., S, Penn State
With Cam Bynum gone to the Colts, the Vikings grab Winston, a high-IQ safety with strong ball skills and versatility in coverage and run support.
  • Round 3, Pick 97: Cameron Williams, OT, Texas
A developmental tackle with starting upside, Williams could eventually replace veteran Brian O’Neill. With time to grow behind an established line, he’s a strong value pick.
  • Round 5, Pick 139: Quincy Riley, CB, Louisville
A physical, lengthy corner with upside. Riley has starter potential if he develops his technique and consistency under the right coaching.
  • Round 5, Pick 153: Ty Robinson, DL, Nebraska
A big-bodied, aggressive interior lineman who brings power and intensity. Robinson could be a solid rotational piece on the defensive front.
  • Round 6, Pick 187: Dylan Fairchild, G, Georgia
Insurance at guard, Fairchild is a physical run blocker who can sit and learn behind Blake Brandel. He’s a potential long-term solution if Brandel falters.

This bold mock gives the Vikings instant defensive firepower and builds depth across key positions. Whether or not Minnesota pulls the trigger on a trade like this, the blueprint shows how aggressive moves could reshape the roster.
