NFL Veteran Drops Bombshell: Giants Must Draft This QB — ‘No Question About It!

The New York Giants made multiple attempts to upgrade their quarterback position this offseason. They reportedly tried to trade for Matthew Stafford, but he ultimately decided to remain with the Los Angeles Rams. With uncertainty surrounding Aaron Rodgers’ decision, the Giants signed both Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson.

Those moves led some to believe New York had moved on from interest in Shedeur Sanders. However, according to former Giants player Will Blackmon, passing on Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft would be a major misstep.

“If Shedeur is available at No. 3, there’s no doubt — the Giants have to take him,” Blackmon told NFL Network. “They need to get this quarterback decision right.”

Sanders has been linked to the Giants fanbase for months and was once projected as the likely No. 1 overall pick. While the team’s late-season win took them out of that top spot, they still have a shot at landing him if they’re set on drafting a QB.

Although Sanders may not be the highest-rated quarterback in the draft, he seems like a perfect fit for New York — both in terms of market appeal and long-term potential. With Russell Wilson likely not a long-term answer, Sanders could benefit from learning behind a Super Bowl-winning veteran before eventually stepping into the starting role.
