BREAKING: ‘Bold’ Yankees Trade Proposal Lands Mason Miller For Two Top-Five Prospects.

MLB’s free agency has gotten off to a sluggish start, and it’s expected that movement will pick up once Juan Soto makes his decision on where he’ll play next. Much has been speculated about what the New York Yankees might do if Soto doesn’t return to the team, but what happens if he does? Keeping Soto would allow him and Aaron Judge to continue forming a powerful duo in the lineup.

However, general manager Brian Cashman still faces the task of addressing several gaps in the infield and pitching staff. One bright spot has been relief pitcher Luke Weaver, who emerged as a reliable late-inning option for the Yankees, finishing the season with a 7-3 record, 2.89 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 103 strikeouts in 84 innings.

However, the bullpen could use reinforcements, especially with two-time All-Star Clay Holmes hitting free agency and likely not returning. There are several potential relievers on the market, both through free agency and trades, that Cashman might target.

One such name not yet seriously mentioned is Mason Miller. While the Athletics currently have no plans to trade him, that could change depending on the circumstances. FanSided’s Zach Pressnell proposed a major three-player trade to bring Miller to the Yankees, with the deal being:

Yankees receive: Right-handed pitcher Mason Miller

Athletics receive: Outfielder Jasson Dominguez and right-handed pitcher Will Warren

Pressnell noted that this trade assumes Soto stays in the Bronx long-term, as trading Dominguez would be more difficult if Soto leaves. It would be a significant cost for the Yankees, as MLB.com ranks Dominguez as the team’s top prospect, with Warren finishing fifth overall.

However, acquiring Miller would bolster New York’s rotation for the long term, as he is under team control until 2030 and is projected to earn just $800,000 next season since he is not yet arbitration-eligible.
