MAJOR-NEWS: “Braves Urged to Make Massive Trade for $75M Ace After Strider’s Latest Injury Setback!”

Braves Urged to Make Blockbuster Move After Another Strider Setback

The Atlanta Braves have taken another major hit to their rotation, losing ace Spencer Strider yet again—this time to a hamstring injury after just one start back from UCL surgery. With their rotation in flux and the team stumbling out of the gate at 10-14, one MLB analyst is calling for a bold move: trade for Cardinals star Sonny Gray.

Newsweek’s Zach Pressnell argues that Atlanta can’t afford to wait on Strider’s return and needs to act fast. “It might not seem like a massive deal, but hamstring injuries are notoriously tricky. Strider is out for at least two starts, but this could linger longer,” Pressnell wrote. “That’s why the Braves should go big and trade for a reliable, top-tier starter.”

His pick? St. Louis ace Sonny Gray. “He’s been one of baseball’s most consistent arms, even if he’s not always in the spotlight. Atlanta badly needs a proven veteran, and Gray fits the bill perfectly,” Pressnell explained. Gray, now in the second year of a $75 million deal, has a 3-0 record and a 3.41 ERA through five starts this season. A three-time All-Star, he could instantly stabilize Atlanta’s shaky rotation.

As for Strider, he’s doing everything he can to get back fast—but the frustration is real. “It sucks,” he said candidly. “I’ve done nothing to help this team in the past year. I was finally ready to contribute, and now I’m back on the table with machines waving over me.” The good news: his MRI showed just a Grade 1 strain, the least severe type. Manager Brian Snitker remains optimistic, saying, “This is the best possible outcome.”

But with Atlanta already sitting at the bottom of the NL East, the clock is ticking. The Braves may need to make a move now—or risk falling further behind.
