JUST-IN: Bruins Set to Hand Out Monster Shocking Contract Worth $30 Million to Lock Down Red-Hot Forward To Massive 6-Year Deal

After a disappointing season that ended without a playoff berth, the Boston Bruins are expected to be aggressive this offseason — and keeping one of their breakout stars could be a top priority.

The Bruins were sellers at the trade deadline and will aim to retool their roster. Among their most important decisions is the future of forward Morgan Geekie, who’s coming off a career year. According to Bruins insider Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic, Boston is projected to offer Geekie a six-year deal worth $30 million, averaging $5 million per season.

“Locking in Morgan Geekie is the first order of business,” Shinzawa wrote. “He emerged as a first-line force with a 33-goal season and fits perfectly as a versatile, physical forward who can play multiple positions. His chemistry with David Pastrnak is clear. Signing him early would avoid arbitration and give GM Don Sweeney clarity heading into free agency.”

Geekie, who just wrapped up a two-year, $4 million contract, will see a significant raise after posting 33 goals and 57 points in 77 games — all career highs. If re-signed, he’s expected to remain a key offensive piece, potentially alongside Pastrnak on the top line or providing scoring depth on the second line.

GM Don Sweeney confirmed the team’s interest in keeping Geekie long-term. “We’d like to get ahead of that and work out a longer-term deal,” he said, noting how important that decision could be for the rest of their offseason plans. Geekie, for his part, has made it clear he hopes to stay. “I love playing in Boston. My family loves it here. I’d love to be here as long as I can,” he told reporters. As a pending restricted free agent, Geekie is aiming to be back at training camp — and hopes to call Boston home for years to come.
