BREAKING’-NEWS: Juan Soto Finally Responds To Claims He Left The Yankees Because They Treated His Family Badly.

Juan Soto has firmly rejected widespread reports that mistreatment of his family by the New York Yankees influenced his decision to leave the team. The star outfielder recently made headlines when he left the Yankees for the New York Mets, signing one of the biggest contracts in sports history— a 15-year, $765 million deal.

It had been reported that Soto was unhappy with the Yankees after an incident where a staff member allegedly removed his personal chef and a family member from an area of Yankee Stadium. In a recent interview with Grandes en los Deportes, Soto addressed these claims directly, labeling them as “a lie” and even referred to the Yankees as a “1A” organization.

Soto also shared that he had requested permission from the Mets to play in 10 games for Tigres del Licey in winter ball, which was approved, but clarified that he will not participate in winter ball this season. Despite his departure, Soto spoke highly of his time with the Yankees, emphasizing his respect for team captain Aaron Judge.

At the end of the day, we’re still friends, we’re still cool,” Soto stated, adding that the relationships formed during his time in the Bronx would remain intact, noting, “Whatever happens, it’s just business.”

Since losing Soto, the Yankees have made swift moves to strengthen their roster, signing pitcher Max Fried, reliever Devin Williams, and outfielder Cody Bellinger. When Fried was introduced at Yankee Stadium earlier this week, manager Aaron Boone presented his family with flowers, a gesture some interpreted as a response to the reports about Soto’s family treatment.
