BREAKING; Yankees Eye $275M Blockbuster Move After Jazz Chisholm Injury Shakes Up Infield

The New York Yankees just can’t seem to escape the injury bug — no matter the year or the player. With Jazz Chisholm expected to miss at least a month due to an oblique tear, the Yankees may now be forced to rethink their plans ahead of the trade deadline.

They already had holes to fill in the infield, and losing Chisholm could make the situation even worse, potentially prompting a move sooner than expected. According to a new report from Sports Illustrated, one high-profile name could now be in play: Nolan Arenado.

SI’s Zach Pressnell suggested the Yankees might pursue the Cardinals star third baseman, especially if St. Louis is more focused on offloading his massive $275 million contract than demanding top-tier prospects. “This could open New York’s eyes to a massive trade for Arenado,” Pressnell wrote.

Chisholm downplayed the injury, saying he’s torn his oblique before and didn’t expect it to be serious — but scans told a different story. “I was super surprised when I saw the results,” Chisholm said.

The Yankees won’t be alone in their pursuit of Arenado. Teams like the Dodgers have been linked to the All-Star in the past, though no official interest has been reported yet this season. Still, if L.A. jumps into the race, New York could face stiff competition.

One final wrinkle: Arenado has a full no-trade clause and could block any deal to the Yankees — a factor the front office must keep in mind as they weigh a potential blockbuster move.
