MAJOR-NEWS: Giants New Defensive Monster Who Signs $45M Deal After Dominating College Football Gives Three-Word Message After Big Giants Announcement Which Fans Into Frenzy

The New York Giants had a very eventful offseason, highlighted by their selections in the 2025 NFL Draft, where they picked seven new players.

Leading their draft class was EDGE rusher Abdul Carter from Penn State, chosen third overall. Carter will carry high expectations into the 2025 season. The Giants got their first in-person look at him during rookie minicamp held from May 9–10. Shortly after, the team announced they had officially signed Carter to his rookie deal.

Carter celebrated the news on social media, posting, “Alhumdullilah Beyond Blessed.” His rookie contract secures him through the 2028 season and is worth \$45.2 million over four years—all fully guaranteed. Being a first-round pick, the Giants also hold a fifth-year option for 2029.

Carter comes off a standout 2024 campaign at Penn State, where he recorded 68 tackles, 24 tackles for loss (the most in the FBS), four pass breakups, and two forced fumbles. The Giants are hopeful he can boost a pass rush that struggled last year—ranking 25th in pressures, tied for eighth in sacks, 26th in hurries, and tied for 21st in QB knockdowns.

Expectations are high, with ESPN BET placing Carter as the frontrunner for Defensive Rookie of the Year at +250 odds, significantly ahead of Atlanta Falcons EDGE Jalon Walker, who sits at +650. If Carter doesn’t deliver, it would likely be seen as a letdown.
