Breaking-News: Giants’ Third-Year Defensive Tackle Shocking Offseason Transformation Has Giants Coaches Buzzing And He is Preparing To Take That Next Step’

The New York Giants are assembling a formidable defensive line, blending elite talent with impressive depth.

At the forefront is All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, who has dedicated his offseason to staying at the top of his game. Lawrence has been training with highly respected private defensive line coach Mark Hall (@markhall___enterprises on Instagram), joined by several of his fellow Giants linemen.

Among them is third-year defensive lineman Jordon Riley, who is aiming to elevate his game heading into 2025. Riley has slimmed down in the offseason and is working hard to improve his quickness and explosiveness off the snap.

In an interview with Empire Sports Media and Fireside Giants, coach Mark Hall singled out Riley as one of the most impressive players at his offseason training camp. “Jordon’s got great twitch, footwork, and body control for a big guy,” Hall said. “He’s dropped some weight and looks fantastic—one of the best-looking guys at camp.”New York Giants DT Jordon Riley has an opportunity - Big Blue View

Riley, listed at 6’5″ and 315 pounds last season, has taken his conditioning seriously in hopes of earning a larger role on the Giants’ defensive front. Hall, who also trains Lawrence and rookie Darius Alexander, has taken a tough-love approach with Riley. “I’m always on him, pushing him hard,” Hall explained. “But I do it because I see the potential. He knows I care and believe he’s ready to make that leap this year.”

A seventh-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Oregon, Riley has already appeared in 21 games over his first two seasons, posting 20 tackles and four tackles for loss across 385 snaps. With the Giants investing heavily in building a deep and dominant defensive line, Riley’s development could be a key factor in how special this unit becomes in 2025.
