JUST-IN: NFL Giants Lineman Jake Kubas Returns Home to Inspire the Next Generation — “I See Myself in These Kids”

Former Dickinson Trinity Titans and North Dakota State offensive lineman Jake Kubas returned to his hometown this week to host his first-ever youth football camp. Now entering his second season with the New York Giants, Kubas is using the offseason to give back to the community that shaped his early football journey.

The two-day camp is focused on teaching young athletes the basic skills and fundamentals of football while also inspiring them to chase their dreams—no matter how small their hometown might be. As a former walk-on at NDSU who earned his way into the NFL, Kubas is a living example that hard work and determination can open doors.

It’s awesome, it’s refreshing,” Kubas said. “It’s refreshing to be back home in the region that kind of made me who I am, and yeah, it’s been fun so far. It’s tough to even remember that long ago, but yeah, some of these kids that are just trying to figure out their bodies and how to move—yeah, I see myself a little bit in a couple of these kids.”

Kubas’ camp runs through Tuesday, giving dozens of young athletes the chance to learn from a pro while seeing firsthand what’s possible when you believe in yourself and your roots.
