Braves Insider’s Take on Brian Snitker Sparks Controversy
The Atlanta Braves have had a rocky start to the 2025 season, plagued by inconsistency and questions about the team’s direction. Despite the recent return of former NL MVP Ronald Acuña Jr., the Braves continue to struggle and are currently mired in a six-game losing streak.
Much of the scrutiny has fallen on manager Brian Snitker and his handling of the team this season.
With a 27–36 record, the Braves sit in fourth place in the NL East, trailing the division-leading New York Mets by 13 games. Their chances of mounting a comeback and securing a Wild Card spot are fading fast—along with, some believe, Snitker’s future with the team.
However, MLB insider Ken Rosenthal recently weighed in, suggesting that Snitker’s job is safe for now. Speaking on Foul Territory, Rosenthal addressed the growing criticism directed at Snitker and general manager Alex Anthopoulos.
“I know fans don’t want to hear this—they’re calling for Snitker’s and Anthopoulos’ heads—but I don’t expect any change unless Snitker chooses to step down, which I don’t see happening,” Rosenthal said.
Snitker, who took over as Atlanta’s interim manager in 2016, has enjoyed a successful tenure with the team, including six division titles and a 2021 World Series championship. While Rosenthal’s comments aren’t definitive, they highlight the growing tension among fans frustrated by the Braves’ disappointing season.
Although Snitker could potentially be replaced after the season, it appears unlikely that the Braves will make a managerial change during the 2025 campaign.
