In today’s Auburn Tigers news, the baseball team secured an impressive 15-8 victory over Samford, while the football program continues its pursuit of a highly touted 4-star edge rusher currently committed to Alabama.
On Tuesday night, the Auburn baseball team delivered an offensive explosion against Samford, with four Tigers—Eric Snow, Chris Rembert, Bub Terrell, and Cooper McMurray—hitting home runs. Snow and Rembert led the charge with three and four RBIs, respectively. Head coach Butch Thompson praised his team’s consistency, saying, “Early on that first weekend, I knew there was more because we’re with them every day. They have arrived and played pretty good. I thought it was a huge part of the game that we could not put them away today. I thought we did it from start to finish.” The Tigers will look to carry this momentum into the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series this weekend in San Antonio, Texas, at Globe Life Field.
Meanwhile, Auburn football is making a strong push to flip 4-star edge rusher Jabarrius “Chicken” Garror, who committed to Alabama last July. Ranked as the No. 8 edge rusher in the 2026 class and the No. 2 recruit in Alabama, Garror visited Auburn’s campus during the Junior Day event in late January. The visit included attending an Auburn basketball game and spending time with the coaching staff, including new edge coach Roc Bellantoni. Garror spoke highly of the experience, saying, “That visit was a good visit because, you know, I watched it. We went around the campus and watched the (Auburn basketball) game, and I got to talk with the coaches more than I did last time. So it was a great visit. You know, I’ll be back up there to meet those coaches again.”
Garror’s interest in Auburn has grown following the visit, and he plans to return to the Plains for another look. The Tigers are hoping to sway the Mobile native and add him to their 2026 recruiting class.
