COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Missouri Tigers are on the brink of capping off their 2024 college football season with back-to-back double-digit win campaigns, a feat they haven’t achieved in years.
One final bowl game stands between the Tigers and this milestone. Their bowl destination and opponent will be revealed on Sunday, following the conclusion of conference championship games across the country.
This marks the 37th bowl appearance in Mizzou football history and the fourth consecutive bowl bid under head coach Eli Drinkwitz. The Tigers hold a 16-20 record in previous bowl games but are coming off a victory in their most recent postseason appearance, the 2023 Cotton Bowl Classic against Ohio State.
While Mizzou won’t be part of the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff this year, their 9-3 regular-season record and No. 19 ranking in the final CFP standings position them for a high-quality bowl matchup.
As bowl projections heat up, experts predict the Tigers could land in one of three prominent games: the Las Vegas Bowl, Liberty Bowl, or Music City Bowl. Potential opponents include Iowa and Colorado, both of which have been frequently linked to Mizzou in early projections.
Fans won’t have to wait long for the official announcement. The bowl selections will be unveiled during a live show on ESPN at 11 a.m. Sunday, setting the stage for the Tigers’ postseason journey.
