BREAKING; Braves Stun MLB by Snagging $42M Star in Blockbuster Signing Spree

Outfielder Jurickson Profar has inked a three-year, $42 million contract with the Atlanta Braves, the team announced Thursday. As part of the deal, Profar will earn $12 million in 2025, followed by $15 million in both 2026 and 2027. Ranked No. 15 on Yahoo Sports’ Top 50 MLB free agent list, Profar is also pledging 1% of his salary to the Atlanta Braves Foundation, which supports community programs focused on youth development, health, education, and increasing access to sports.

Profar is coming off a breakout season with the San Diego Padres, where he hit .280 with 24 home runs, 85 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases. He led all National League left fielders with a 4.3 fWAR and ranked in the top 10% in expected wOBA (.364) and expected batting average (.283). He also finished sixth among NL hitters in wRC+, earned a spot as the NL’s starting left fielder in the All-Star Game, and took home a Silver Slugger Award for his offensive output.

The Braves now add Profar to an already strong outfield alongside Michael Harris II and Ronald Acuña Jr., who is returning from ACL surgery. Profar started his MLB career with the Texas Rangers, then played for the Oakland A’s in 2019, followed by stints with the Padres and Rockies before returning to San Diego last season.
