With just two regular-season games left before the Providence Bruins begin their Calder Cup playoff run, the Boston Bruins have sent several players down to their AHL affiliate to strengthen the lineup.

Boston assigned forwards Fabian Lysell, Fraser Minten, John Farinacci, Vinni Lettieri, and defenseman Frederic Brunet to Providence, as announced by GM Don Sweeney in a press release on Wednesday. The team also placed defenseman Ian Mitchell on waivers with the intent to assign him to Providence as well.

Among the most notable names is Fabian Lysell, one of Boston’s top prospects. He made his NHL debut in a shutout win over the Blue Jackets on December 28 and returned to the big club after the trade deadline in March. Lysell appeared in 12 NHL games this season, recording one goal and two assists while averaging just over 13 minutes of ice time. In the AHL, he played 51 games and racked up 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points.

Vinni Lettieri also saw extended time in Boston, suiting up for 26 games and contributing three goals and two assists. He was a standout in Providence, tallying 20 goals and 28 assists for 48 points in just 46 games — averaging over a point per contest.

Fraser Minten, acquired from Toronto in the trade involving Brandon Carlo, made his Bruins debut on April 6. He scored his first NHL goal just two days later in a dominant win over the Devils. Minten also impressed during his AHL stint, posting seven points in 10 games with Providence.

John Farinacci made his NHL debut in Boston’s final regular-season game on April 15, scoring a goal in an overtime loss to New Jersey. He had a productive AHL season with nine goals and 28 assists in 57 games.

Frederic Brunet also debuted in the same game, logging over 14 minutes of ice time and registering two shots and a hit across 20 shifts. He appeared in 68 games for Providence this season, contributing five goals and 19 assists.

Lastly, Ian Mitchell played 15 games with Boston this season, recording one assist and averaging over 15 minutes per game. He added four goals and 23 assists in 46 games with Providence.
