South Carolina linebacker Demetrius Knight, one of several Gamecocks participating in the NFL Combine this week, shared his optimistic outlook on the future of South Carolina football during his media availability. Knight, who spent six seasons in college football—including his final year at South Carolina—praised head coach Shane Beamer and expressed confidence in the program’s trajectory.

“South Carolina is going to be a team to be reckoned with for years and years to come,” Knight said. “As long as Beamer is there doing his thing and laying the law down like he has been, they’re going to be a great team to watch this year. I can’t wait to see what they do. I hope LaNorris [Sellers] continues to work his magic like he displayed every Saturday. South Carolina is going to be a team to watch.”
Knight’s college journey included stints at Georgia Tech and Charlotte before he transferred to South Carolina for his final season. In 2024, he appeared in all 13 games for the Gamecocks, recording 82 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, and an interception. His performance and leadership have left a lasting impression on the program, and his words reflect a belief that South Carolina is poised for success under Beamer’s guidance.
