BREAKING: Giants’ 2026 Reset Begins: New Mock Draft Gives Jaxson Dart a Game-Changing Weapon

After nearly a decade of offensive inconsistency, the New York Giants are approaching a defining moment in their rebuild. The 2026 offseason represents a pivotal opportunity for the franchise, especially with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart flashing franchise-level potential despite limited support around him. Now, the focus shifts to equipping Dart with the talent he needs to make the leap from promising prospect to long-term answer.

In Pro Football Focus analyst Dalton Wasserman’s latest 2026 mock draft, the Giants make a bold move to surround their young quarterback with elite talent. With the second overall pick, New York selects Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, signaling a clear commitment to building around Dart.

Wasserman emphasized that despite uncertainty surrounding the Giants’ head coaching situation, the priority should remain clear. New York finished near the bottom of the league in receiving production, and while Malik Nabers is expected to return healthy in 2026, the offense desperately needs another dynamic playmaker. Tyson, who posted an 85.9 PFF receiving grade during the 2025 season, projects as an immediate starter capable of thriving alongside Nabers.

In this scenario, the Giants bypass other roster needs to secure a true No. 1-caliber wide receiver. Tyson is widely viewed as the most refined receiver in the draft class, particularly excelling in contested-catch situations and high-leverage moments.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound pass catcher recorded 61 receptions for 711 yards and eight touchdowns in just nine games during his redshirt junior season. His breakout year in 2024 was even more impressive, as he totaled 75 catches, 1,101 yards, and 10 touchdowns across a full 12-game schedule, earning First-Team All-Big 12 honors and Offensive Newcomer of the Year recognition. In 2025, Tyson also made notable strides in ball security, registering just one drop on 97 targets.

Giants’ Offense Desperate for Playmakers

Adding Tyson would give the Giants one of the most dangerous young receiving duos in the league. With Nabers returning from a major injury, Tyson would serve as both an immediate safety net and a long-term vertical threat — something the offense has sorely lacked.

The urgency could grow even further if Wan’Dale Robinson departs in free agency. Should Robinson walk, wide receiver would become an even bigger priority, making Tyson or another elite pass catcher a strong candidate for the team’s first-round selection.

Drafting Tyson would represent a full investment in Dart’s development, providing him with a high-end supporting cast regardless of how free agency unfolds.

Tyson would also reunite with Giants running back Cam Skattebo, his former Arizona State teammate. Skattebo, currently on injured reserve after a Week 8 injury, showed early star potential with seven total touchdowns in his first eight NFL games.

Injury Concerns Loom

While Tyson’s upside is undeniable, his medical history remains a concern for evaluators. He suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2022, missed most of 2023, and battled a hamstring issue late in the 2025 season.

Still, his explosive production, separation ability, and reliable hands make him one of the most intriguing prospects the Giants could target early in the draft.

If New York ultimately pairs Jordyn Tyson with Jaxson Dart, the franchise may finally be on the verge of ending its long search for a stable, high-octane offense.
