BREAKING: Giants GM Shocks Fans with Bold Russell Wilson Decision Ahead of 2025 NFL Season

The New York Giants have made several key moves this offseason to bounce back from a disappointing 2024 season, where they finished 3-14 and last in the NFC East. One of the most significant changes has been in the quarterback room, as they signed Russell Wilson (one year, $10.5 million) and Jameis Winston (two years, $8 million) in free agency.

Both quarterbacks saw considerable playing time as starters in 2024 for their respective teams, sparking speculation about a potential battle for the starting role in Week 1. However, a clear frontrunner has already emerged, with Giants general manager Joe Schoen confirming that Wilson will be getting first-team reps during the spring.

Looking at the numbers, Wilson had a solid season with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024, starting 11 games and completing 214-of-336 passes for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, five interceptions, and a passer rating of 95.6. He also added 155 rushing yards and two touchdowns, leading the Steelers to a 6-5 record and earning his 10th career Pro Bowl selection.

Meanwhile, Winston appeared in 12 games for the Cleveland Browns, starting seven, and completed 181-of-296 passes for 2,121 yards, 13 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and an 80.6 passer rating. His 83 rushing yards and one touchdown helped lead the Browns to a 2-5 record. Now, the question remains whether Wilson can maintain his grip on the starting job or if Winston will make a push for the position during the offseason.
