In his rookie season with the New York Giants, quarterback Jaxson Dart delivered an impressive performance. He completed 216 of 339 passes for 2,272 yards, throwing 15 touchdowns against five interceptions, while also adding 487 rushing yards and nine scores on the ground. The former Ole Miss standout and first-round pick earned recognition as a finalist for the Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Despite Dart’s success, the Giants experienced significant upheaval during the season. Head coach Brian Daboll was dismissed on Nov. 10 after a 2–8 start, leading offensive coordinator Mike Kafka to take over as interim head coach for the remainder of the year. Looking ahead to 2026, New York turned to longtime Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh to lead the franchise.
As the Giants hope Dart can emerge as their long-term answer at quarterback, consistency will be crucial. Speaking with the Associated Press’ Rob Maaddi, Dart shared his excitement about playing for Harbaugh. “I can’t wait,” Dart said. He explained that the two had lengthy conversations even before the hiring was finalized, noting that their discussions often stretched on so long that meetings had to be broken up. Dart said he’s eager to play for Harbaugh not only because of his coaching résumé, but also because of who he is as a person.
Harbaugh brings a wealth of experience to New York, having spent 18 seasons leading the Ravens. During that time, he compiled a 180–113 regular-season record, went 13–11 in the playoffs, and won a Super Bowl following the 2012 season.
With Dart at quarterback and Harbaugh on the sidelines, the Giants are aiming to return to relevance by securing their first winning season and playoff berth since 2022.
