On June 18, 2025, R&B legend and Atlanta native Usher was celebrated in a big way by his hometown Braves at Truist Park. The team honored him with a full-scale tribute, including a bobblehead giveaway, exclusive merchandise launch, themed food truck, a ceremonial first pitch, and pregame festivities that turned the ballpark into a full-blown Usher celebration.
The first 15,000 fans through the gates received a special bobblehead designed by Usher himself, flashing the iconic “Peace Up, A-Town Down” hand sign. But the festivities kicked off well before game time. Fans flooded The Battery Atlanta hours early, where they enjoyed a live DJ set from Usher’s longtime tour DJ, DJ Mars, and grabbed bites from the ‘Coming Home Diner’ food truck — a nod to Usher’s first independent release.

The menu was loaded with dishes inspired by his biggest hits, including “OMG” Fried Fish and Grits, “My Way” Lemon Pepper Wet Wings, and “Yeah” Shrimp and Grits.
Usher also surprised fans with an appearance at the Braves Clubhouse Store in The Battery, where he debuted his new apparel line as part of the Braves Collab Collection. He then joined in the fanfare by leading the ‘Open the Gates’ moment and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before the Braves shut out the Mets 5-0 in a perfect ending to a star-studded night.
