Jeremy Swayman is aiming to keep his undefeated streak alive in Team USA’s most important matchup of the World Championship — the gold medal game against Switzerland on Sunday afternoon.
The Boston Bruins netminder has been stellar throughout the tournament, posting a flawless 6-0 record with a 1.98 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.
Not only is Swayman chasing a seventh straight win, but he also has the chance to help lead Team USA to its first gold medal since 1933 — only the second time the team has reached the championship game in tournament history.
Reflecting on his experience in Sweden, Swayman shared his enthusiasm:
“I couldn’t be happier to be at this tournament, especially after the season I had,” he told The Hockey News. “I feel like a completely new person and a completely new goalie. The support in the locker room has been amazing — it’s just been filled with joy. It’s been contagious.”
Swayman’s standout international performance follows a challenging NHL season, where he recorded a 22-29-7 record with a 3.11 GAA and .892 save percentage — a tough first campaign as Boston’s primary goaltender.

While Swayman prepares for a potential gold medal moment, his Bruins teammate Elias Lindholm already claimed hardware — helping Sweden secure bronze earlier on Sunday. Meanwhile, Switzerland is looking to make history with its first-ever gold at the World Championship.
