The New York Giants are continuing to bolster their secondary, with The Athletic’s Dan Duggan reporting Monday that the team is signing cornerback TJ Moore following an impressive showing during rookie minicamp.
Moore, a rookie out of Mercer, brings intriguing upside and will provide valuable depth in the defensive backfield. He made a name for himself last season with seven interceptions and 38 solo tackles. During his pro day, he clocked a 4.44-second 40-yard dash — a clear indicator of his speed and agility, traits the Giants are eager to inject into a defense that struggled mightily last year.
This move is part of a larger effort by the Giants to reinforce their defense.
Earlier in the offseason, they added two key veterans to the secondary: Paulson Adebo, expected to lead the cornerback group, and safety Jevon Holland, both of whom are projected to be major contributors in 2025. The team also made notable picks in the draft, including standout edge rusher Abdul Carter, defensive tackle Darius Alexander, and cornerback Korie Black in the seventh round.
After being ravaged by injuries in 2024, the Giants are prioritizing depth across the board. While external expectations for the upcoming season remain modest, New York is clearly betting on the potential of its young, athletic additions to make a real impact — and Moore might just be one of those hidden gems.
