Breaking-News: Despite Yankees Win Something Feels Off As Yankees’ Infielder Calls Out Team For Underperforming

The New York Yankees secured a 3–0 win over the Oakland Athletics on Friday, but the atmosphere around the team remained oddly flat.

Instead of bringing a sense of relief, the win highlighted the team’s recent struggles to gain momentum.

They’ve only scored more than six runs once in their past five games, barely edging out an Oakland squad that’s already near the bottom of the standings.

That narrow victory came on the heels of a series loss to the Cincinnati Reds, adding to a quiet sense of frustration that’s begun to take hold in the clubhouse.

Jazz Chisholm providing a much-needed spark

One of the few bright spots for the Yankees in June has been Jazz Chisholm, who appears determined to carry the offense on his shoulders.

He’s hitting .325/.384/.571 this month, producing a scorching .955 OPS and injecting much-needed energy into the batting order.

Chisholm, fully aware of this team’s potential, didn’t hold back after Friday’s win, calling for higher performance levels.

“I feel like we can be better, obviously. I feel like we’re a better team than we’ve shown,” he said, aiming to rally his teammates.

That mix of self-belief and accountability has made Chisholm a crucial leader in the Yankees’ clubhouse.

Other key players aren’t keeping pace

Paul Goldschmidt, who started the season strong, has gone cold at the plate in June, deepening the team’s offensive woes.

Trent Grisham, one of the more pleasant surprises this season, has delivered inconsistent performances recently.

Even Aaron Judge — who’s usually superhuman — has cooled off by his standards, posting a .256/.379/.547 line this month.

While still excellent by league metrics, it’s a step down for Judge — a reminder of how accustomed fans have become to his astronomical production.

A typical summer slump — but urgency is rising

Every team hits rough patches during the long MLB season, so the Yankees’ recent inconsistency isn’t entirely unexpected.

Their main issue has been a lack of timely hitting, with too many runners left on base in key moments.

Still, the talent on this roster is too strong for this slump to last — it’s more a matter of when, not if, the offense starts clicking again.

While the starting rotation has done its part to keep the team competitive, the Yankees will need their bats to come alive soon if they want to take control of the division race.
