The New York Giants’ quarterback room looks fairly set for 2025 — at least on paper — with a trio of signal-callers who bring a combined 286 career starts to the table. But despite that experience, there’s still a sense of uncertainty surrounding the group.
Why? Because the situation is far from settled.
The Giants added two big-name veterans this offseason, signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, while also bringing back fan-favorite Tommy DeVito. Right now, the plan is for Wilson to lead the charge under center.
But how does that QB trio stack up against the rest of the NFL? According to Sam Robinson of Yardbarker, not very well. In his annual ranking of quarterback rooms, the Giants land a surprisingly low spot — 23rd overall.

Wilson expected to be the starter, it’s fair to question whether 22 teams really have better depth or upside at quarterback. Especially when Wilson will be throwing to a talented receiving corps that includes breakout rookie Malik Nabers, along with returning targets Darius Slayton and Wan’Dale Robinson.
Still, the bigger question looms: who will be under center for New York after 2025?
That’s a decision the Giants may look to make during the upcoming NFL Draft. The team has recently conducted private workouts with several intriguing QB prospects, including Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, and Louisville’s Tyler Shough.
According to recent mock drafts, the Giants are expected to target a defensive star like Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter with the No. 3 overall pick. But they also hold the 34th overall pick — and it’s entirely possible they package that in a trade to move back into the first round for a rookie quarterback.
One thing’s for sure: no matter how experienced the QB room may look today, the Giants are clearly eyeing the future. And they’ll likely need a young quarterback to eventually take the reins from Wilson beyond 2025.
