Bryce Harper may only be 32, but you’d never guess it from the latest viral photo making the rounds.
MLB’s official X (formerly Twitter) account recently shared a picture of the Philadelphia Phillies slugger as part of a promo for the new “How to Train Your Dragon” movie. But the promotional tie-in wasn’t what caught fans’ attention—it was Harper’s noticeably aged appearance in the shot.
Social media quickly lit up with reactions, as fans joked and expressed shock over how different—and significantly older—Harper looked. Whether it was due to awkward camera angles, unflattering lighting, or just a rough photo, the image certainly didn’t show Harper at his best.

Fortunately for Phillies fans, Harper’s game is aging a lot better than the photo suggests. Despite hitting just .258 this season, the former NL MVP has racked up nine home runs, 34 RBIs, and eight stolen bases in 57 games.
Currently, Harper is sidelined with a concerning wrist injury, but fans are hopeful he’ll return to the lineup soon—hopefully looking more like his usual self, both on and off the field.
