In a dramatic turn during the New York Yankees’ 6-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night, Jazz Chisholm Jr. was ejected in the seventh inning after a heated exchange with home plate umpire John Bacon. The incident occurred following a full-count pitch from Mason Montgomery that Chisholm believed was low. This marked his fifth career ejection and his first since joining the Yankees.
Following the ejection, Chisholm took to social media, posting a message that read, “Not even f**king close!!!!!” The post was later deleted, but it drew attention for potentially violating Major League Baseball’s policy, which prohibits players from using electronic devices during games to disparage umpires. Chisholm acknowledged the misstep, stating, “I lost my emotions. I lost my cool. I got to be better than that. I’m definitely mad at myself for losing my cool.”

Manager Aaron Boone expressed understanding of Chisholm’s frustration, noting that such emotions are part of being a competitor. However, he emphasized the importance of maintaining composure and adhering to league policies.
Despite the ejection, the Yankees secured the win, with Ben Rice delivering a standout performance, including a four-hit game and two RBIs. The team continues to navigate the season with resilience, even as individual players like Chisholm learn from their on-field experiences
