Airport Chief William Major confirmed that the team was on standby, prepared for the plane’s arrival. However, things took a turn when, just six minutes later, at 11:22 a.m., the East Road fire control dispatch center received a 911 call reporting a small plane crash in a wooded area near several homes, one of which was confirmed to be owned by Dawkins.

At 11:29 a.m., the fire chief arrived at the scene, where both the East Road Fire Department and the Jamison Road Fire Department quickly responded. The incident has left the community on edge, and officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
