BREAKING; NFL Exec Says Vikings’ Under-the-Radar Pass Rusher Could Explode in 2025

The Minnesota Vikings’ defense took a big step forward in 2024 under coordinator Brian Flores, and one of their young pass rushers could be ready for a major breakout in 2025.

First-round pick Dallas Turner, selected 17th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, didn’t get much attention as a rookie while playing in Flores’ aggressive, blitz-heavy scheme — but he still showed flashes of his potential.

Now, former New York Giants executive and NFL Network analyst Marc Ross has named Turner as one of his top breakout candidates for the 2025 season.

Turner played just 28% of defensive snaps last season, finishing with 20 tackles, 3 sacks, and an interception. With Patrick Jones II leaving in free agency after a 7-sack season, more opportunities could be coming Turner’s way. Ross believes Turner could thrive alongside fellow edge rushers Andrew Van Ginkel and Jonathan Greenard.

Minnesota added major reinforcements to its defensive front by signing Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Allen this offseason — moves that could open things up for Turner to attack off the edge. Head coach Kevin O’Connell has even predicted a “huge jump” in Turner’s development heading into his second year.

To fully realize that breakout potential, Turner may need to take snaps from Van Ginkel, who earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in 2024. Still, Turner’s athleticism, size, and skill set make him a strong candidate to play a key role in one of the league’s most aggressive defenses.
