FRISCO: Andy Dalton, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback now playing for the Carolina Panthers, was involved in a car accident on Tuesday. He was traveling with his wife, Jordan, their children, and the family dog. CBS Sports reports that the positive outcome is that none of Dalton’s family needed hospitalization after emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene. The Panthers have stated that they are evaluating Dalton’s condition.
In his first season with the Panthers, where he was originally expected to back up Bryce Young, Dalton has thrown for 989 yards, with seven touchdowns and six interceptions. He has started five games for Carolina but has managed only one victory. The 36-year-old previously had a successful run with the Bengals after excelling at TCU, and he played for the Cowboys in the 2020 season, stepping in as quarterback after Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury.
