BREAKING; Shaq Griffin Eyes Seahawks Reunion — And the Vikings Could Be Surprise Winners!

Vikings free agent cornerback Shaq Griffin is scheduled to visit the Seahawks as both teams continue shaping their rosters this offseason. Seattle is undergoing a major shakeup in their secondary, seeking new solutions at corner after leaning heavily on veterans during last year’s late push for the NFC’s top seed.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Will Ragatz, Griffin potentially signing with Seattle would be a mixed bag for Minnesota. On one hand, the Vikings would be losing another veteran from an already thin cornerback group. But on the other, Griffin’s departure could actually benefit the team in the long run.

If he signs with Seattle before the 2024 NFL Draft on a deal worth $4 million or more, it would likely qualify him as a compensatory free agent. That means the Vikings could earn a third compensatory pick in 2026—adding to the two they’re already projected to receive due to the departures of Sam Darnold and Cam Robinson. More picks would give Minnesota valuable flexibility to maneuver up or down the draft board in two years.
